This is a hand-carved yellow cedar Eagle Paddle by Bill Henderson, Kwakwaka'wakw Master Carver from the Wei Wai Kum First Nation. The paddle is deeply carved and painted in grey, yellow, red, green, and black acrylic.

The Eagle Symbol is known as “The master of skies” and is a symbol of great significance. He is believed to be the creature with the closest relationship with the creator. Soaring to great heights, he can travel between the physical and the spiritual world. He is said to be a messenger to the creator.

The paddle measures approximately 61 inches or 155 centimeters long, 8 5/8 inches or 22 centimeters wide, and about 1 1/4 inches or 3 centimeters thick.
