This Eagle & Orca Totem Pole was hand-carved in argillite and signed by Haida artist Greg White Lightbown. The top of the pole features an Eagle design with a human on top, and the bottom features an Orca or Killer Whale crest with a human figure above the tail. It was purchased from a collection and is in good condition, with minor imperfections which are reflected in the price.
The Eagle Symbol is known as “The master of skies” and is a symbol of great significance. He is believed to be the creature with the closest relationship with the creator. Soaring to great heights, he can travel between the physical and the spiritual world. He is said to be a messenger to the creator.

The Orca or Killer Whale symbolizes family, romance, longevity, harmony, travel, community and protection. He is said to protect those who travel away from home, and to lead them back when the time comes. Orcas will often stay their whole life with the same pod and raise each calf with care.

The pole measures approximately 6 1/2 inches or 16 1/2 centimeters high, 1 3/4 inches or 4 1/2 centimeters wide, and 2 1/8 inches or 5 1/2 centimeters deep.
